After a long day all we want to do is be able to get to bed on time. Sometimes that is harder to do when you hear “I have to go to the bathroom”, “I am thirsty” or “I am hungry”. Here are some tips to help your bedtime routine run smoothly!
- Make a list for your children of what is expected for the bedtime routine.
- Make sure the list includes what is expected of them all the way until it is time to hit the hay! This can include brushing teeth, getting dressed for bed, as well as planning out when they can have a drink or what time the kitchen is closed.
- You should keep this list in view so that every family member can see it and make sure your child participates in checking off what they completed on the list.
- Remember to go through the list prior to the routine so they know what is expected.
