How We Can Help at this Age
Our expert therapy, education and support prepares your teen to…
Comprehensive ABA – uses the science of behavior analysis to address all of the core deficits of ASD, such as communication, leisure and social skills, safety skills, challenging behaviors and independent life skills.
Focused ABA – uses the science of behavior analysis to address a specific core deficit of ASD. Your child will get support for areas of particular difficulty to address and decrease significant problematic behaviors.
Occupational Therapy during middle school addresses motor weaknesses. It also helps your child be more successful and independent with writing and/or using electronic devices, such as an iPad, for school and home.
Work on receptive (what your child understands) and expressive (what they say) as well the social part of language. This may also include speech treatment for apraxia and help with executive functioning.
Does your child struggle with vocal speech? Our trained specialized clinicians will help with alternative communication system(s). We make it as easy as possible for your child, so they will use their device or system consistently. We’ll show you and them how to make it happen.
Our mental health services support the important social-emotional skills kids need during the middle school years. Focusing on puberty, executive functioning skills, safety, peer pressure and bullying, along with social media and social skills.
We often recommend parents meet with us to learn what to expect as your pre-teen with ASD goes through puberty during middle school.
